Too many babies are dying from being in danger when they are put to sleep. The Infant Safe Sleep Coalition seeks to promote safe sleep for babies in order to prevent deaths due to unsafe sleep practices. The Coalition engages heavily in raising awareness and education for parents, community members, and providers on how to keep babies safe.

Infant Safe Sleep Awareness Month is October. Learn more about what you can do.

First Tuesday of the month, 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., currently meeting virtually.

For more information, visit the KCHD Infant Safe Sleep Program or the MDHHS Safe Sleep Information website.

The ABCs of Infant Safe Sleep Video Series

Four videos were created by the Kent County Health Department and the Healthy Kent Infant Safe Sleep Coalition with support from MDHHS Safe Sleep. The people in the videos are real moms, dads, grandparents, and babies from our community. The videos are available to any organization, agency or individual who would like to educate new parents, grandparents and caregivers on the safest way to sleep a baby, we know because we asked the experts, the babies!
