Social Determinants of Health

The social determinants of health (SDOH) are the non-medical factors that influence health outcomes such factors like income – socioeconomic status, housing, education, food security, neighborhood and physical environment, employment, transportation, and social support networks. Research shows that the social determinants can be more important than health care or lifestyle choices in influencing health. Health in All Policies is a tool for working on health policies across the various systems.

About Healthy Kent

Healthy Kent is a community collaborative providing a neutral, non-competitive space where organizations and individuals can work together in areas of mutual interest related to the health of Kent County residents.

Healthy Kent 2000, 2010 and 2020 was launched in 1994 and modeled after the Healthy People Objectives for the Nation and continues today. Healthy People 2030 sets data-driven national objectives to improve health and well-being over the next decade.
