Health Equity Council

The purpose of the Health Equity Council (HEC) Advisory Board is to have members serve as ambassadors for the HEC. They mobilize resources and support the work of the HEC/CHNA/CHIP. They use their influence to advocate for and sustain strategies that improve the health and wellbeing of Kent County residents and reduce health inequities.  The Advisory Board consists of the following members and meets quarterly.  The group will initially be coordinated by KCHD staff until Co-Chairs are elected from the membership.


  • 7 representatives from local health and behavioral health systems
  • 2 representatives from health care payor organizations
  • 2 representatives from local government
  • 1 representative from academia
  • 2 CBO representatives
  • 2 representatives from the Community Voice group
